Job offer: Communications Manager

First and foremost, we’re looking for someone who is motivated by the FFQ’s mission and wants to contribute to its development. The job of Communications Manager involves working closely with the team, the spokesperson, the Board of Directors and the committees. The role consists of advising and coordinating communications actions aligned with the FFQ’s vision, mission, values and political orientations. This strategy and plan is then translated into the various communications tools and spheres of public, political and media relations. The Head of Communications ensures the production of content that can engage the public, political decision-makers, the media, allies, members and future members, as well as ensuring that the FFQ’s brand image is respected.

What’s in it for you?

  • Develop and implement communications strategies with a global vision that contribute to greater impact, in collaboration with the team and the Board of Directors.
  • Keep abreast of communication trends and constantly re-evaluate the platforms used.
  • Evaluate and analyze communications with a view to continuous improvement and fact-based decision-making.
  • Roll out communications strategy across social media platforms and website.
  • Produce content to engage more users on each platform.
  • Support, coordinate and participate in the writing of articles, opinions and opinion letters, with committees and the President.
  • Coach colleagues and board members in their public appearances and varied presences, as well as coordinating interview requests and speaking engagements.
  • Develop a media relations network and maintain a media watch to promote the FFQ’s positions.
  • Participate in a collective effort to educate the public on various topics surrounding women’s rights and gender equality.
  • Plan and execute media and public crisis management plans.
  • Participate in the life of the team, the Board of Directors and the organization.
  • Other related duties.

A few details about the position:

  • Position open throughout Quebec (in hybrid mode).
  • Temporary position for one (1) year, with the possibility of permanent status.
  • Full-time position (32 or 35 hours per week).
  • Salary: $32.21/hour
  • One month’s vacation (8%), plus two weeks for holidays, family and sick days, group insurance, etc.
  • The workload is irregular, depending on the time of year and emergencies.

  • Demonstrated and varied communications skills with a strategic vision.
  • Good knowledge of media and public relations.
  • Ability to popularize complex issues.
  • Coaching and training skills in communications and related fields.
  • A combination of relevant experience and education.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and applications.
  • Excellent writing, editing and communication skills in French. Functional English.
