Meet our new president!
MAY 28, 2023
The FFQ has successfully recovered from a period of organizational adjustments and announces the election of a new president determined to revitalize the organization!
Quebec, May 28, 2023 –
The Fédération des femmes du Québec (FFQ) is proud to announce the election of a new president, marking a crucial step in our journey of redefinition and renewal. At the end of our annual general meeting held on May 27 and 28, Sylvie St-Amand was elected head of the FFQ, ready to take on the challenges and restore the strength and brilliance of our organization.
After a period of organizational adjustments, our outgoing president, Mélanie Ederer, the members of the current board of directors as well as our new work team worked tirelessly to reposition the FFQ. Their commitment and dedication made it possible to reestablish our mission, strengthen our actions and usher in a promising new era for Quebec feminist movements.
The election of Sylvie St-Amand as president represents a significant step in the evolution of the FFQ. Her progressive vision, her solid experience within the FFQ and her inspiring leadership make her a qualified president to lead our organization towards new horizons and achieve ambitious goals. Sylvie is driven by a passion for promoting gender equality and defending women’s rights, and she is keen to represent and listen to the voices of all women in Quebec.
“I am honored by the trust that the members have shown in me. The federation is a collective force, the members are the fundamental base which allows the president to address the many issues that affect women. It is all together that we can have the feminist influence that we want for our society! »
The FFQ warmly invites all members who were not present to come and meet Sylvie St-Amand in the coming months, in order to continue to rebuild the FFQ together.
Having three candidates for president is exceptional and shows the renewed interest and support for the FFQ. This demonstrates the confidence placed in our mission and our actions, as well as the enthusiasm generated by the winds of change blowing through the Federation. We would like to thank all the presidential candidates for their commitment and participation in this electoral process.
